Senior Engineering Geologist - London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits
An established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their growing London team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Geologist looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied range of ground investigation projects.
The role will involve a strong mix of site-based investigation, technical reporting and project delivery, working across residential, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
The Role
- Planning and managing ground investigations from initial scope through to completion
- Undertaking and supervising site investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and in-situ testing
- Logging soils and rocks to industry standards
- Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
- Reviewing laboratory and field testing results
- Developing ground models and providing geotechnical interpretation
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
- Supporting project management, programming and commercial delivery
- Supervising junior engineers and engineering geologists
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
- Strong practical experience within ground investigation
- Experience producing factual and/or interpretative ground investigation reports
- Good understanding of UK ground conditions and investigation techniques
- Experience supervising site investigations and working with contractors
- Strong technical report-writing and communication skills
- A full UK driving licence is desirable
- Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous
