Senior Facades Designer/Engineer A growing engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Façade Designer / Technician to join their growing London team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of prestigious projects across the UK, contributing to innovative and high-quality façade solutions from concept through to delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, coordination, and technical detailing of façade packages, working closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
This is a hybrid role based in their Central London office, with:
- 3 days per week in the office
- 2 days per week working from home
Key Duties:- Produce detailed façade design drawings and technical packages
- Develop façade systems from concept through to the construction stage
- Coordinate design information with architects, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors
- Prepare and review GA drawings, Fabrication details, Installation drawings, and technical specifications
- Support project delivery teams with technical problem-solving
- Attend design team meetings and site visits where required
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and project requirements
- Mentor junior team members where appropriate
Role Requirements:- Proven experience in façade design and detailing within the construction industry
- Strong technical understanding of curtain walling, cladding systems, glazing, rainscreen systems, and associated interfaces
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
- Experience using Revit/BIM is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and façade performance requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years’ relevant industry experience
