Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior HR Business Partner (Schools) to join Nottingham City Council on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the HR Advisory service for maintained schools.

• Build strong relationships with Head Teachers, School Business Managers and Chairs of Governors.

• Provide advice and guidance on complex HR and employee relations matters, including sickness, grievance and disciplinary cases.

• Support senior recruitment, induction, performance management, succession planning, redeployment and redundancy.

• Lead and support employee relations projects and maintain effective Trade Union relationships.

• Support service redesign and organisational change while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and Council policies.

• Provide strategic HR advice and support to senior leaders.

• Manage and develop a team of 1–6 HR Advisors.

• Deputise for the HR Business Lead when required.

• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have:

• Extensive HR experience within a large and complex organisation.

• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.

• Experience providing technical HR advice to senior leaders.

• Experience managing complex employee relations and Trade Union negotiations.

• Experience working with different terms and conditions of employment.

• Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.

• Experience of leading and supporting organisational change.

• CIPD qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
