Job Description:

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

£50,000 - £60,000

Edinburgh - Hybrid

We are on the lookout for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a software services company in Edinburgh. Due to continued growth across the organisation both in the UK & US they are looking for someone with specialist knowledge in VMware, Disaster Recovery and Hyper V. You will help drive the expansion of their SaaS-based platform and applications and play a key role in their continued success.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for server hardware configuration and provisioning to provide a secure and performant compute platform.
• Maintaining security and integrity of network infrastructure and services such that unauthorised activity can be recognised and prevented.
• Managing secure and resilient datacentres to support products and internal services.
• Reviewing and recommending new technologies with the aim of improving existing services.
• Training and mentoring junior colleagues to raise their levels of expertise and minimise the number of required ticket escalations.

In order to be successful in the role, candidate's ideally need:

• Excellent Problem solving using logical and systematic approaches
• Ability to understand the long term impact of decisions
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of network security tools and security practices
• Solid understanding of computer network architecture
• Awareness of Disaster Recovery planning and implementation
• Awareness of Business continuity planning and implementation

Experience of the following technologies:

• VMware
• Hyper-V, SCVMM & VCentrer
• SSL, VPN and IP Sub-netting.
• Microsoft Windows server operating systems
• Microsoft Azure
• Mobile Device Management
• Server Virtualisation technologies
• Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage
