Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: Circa £65,000 DOE | London | Hybrid

A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Building Services team. With a strong reputation across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, heritage, and public sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to take on greater project responsibility and progress their career within a supportive environment.

Working alongside experienced engineers and project leaders, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design and coordination of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow design disciplines.

Youll have the opportunity to influence project outcomes, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Typical Projects

• Residential developments ranging from boutique schemes to large mixed-use projects
• Commercial office refurbishments and new-build developments
• Education facilities including schools and higher education projects
• Healthcare and public sector buildings
• Heritage and listed building refurbishments
• Leisure and community developments

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on a variety of building services projects
• Produce and review specifications, calculations, reports, and technical drawings
• Attend client and design team meetings
• Coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders
• Support and mentor junior members of the engineering team
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard
• Assist with fee proposals and project planning where required

Requirements

• Experience working within a UK Building Services Consultancy environment
• Strong mechanical design experience across a range of sectors
• Proficient with industry-standard design software
• Good understanding of current Building Regulations and industry standards
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ambition to progress within a growing consultancy
