- Produce clear, accurate CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications using SolidWorks
- Carry out mechanical analysis including structural and tolerance analysis to ensure designs are fit for purpose
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, building and evaluating prototypes where required
- Take ownership of work packages, planning and tracking delivery on time and within budget
- Define and execute practical test plans, working with test teams to carry out environmental and performance testing
- Identify and resolve design and product issues, taking a structured, logical approach to fault finding
- Support production and service teams in diagnosing and resolving technical problems
- Work closely with electrical, software, production, and service teams, and engage with suppliers to ensure components are delivered to specification
- Support and mentor junior engineers, providing clear technical direction where needed
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across products, processes, and reliability

- Comfortable working across disciplines and with external suppliers
- Clear communicator, able to explain technical issues without overcomplicating them
- Self-motivated, reliable, and proactive
