The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You'll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical building services design and delivery of projects across the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.
• Manage projects through all RIBA stages, from feasibility and concept design through to construction.
• Design and specify HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water services, and other mechanical building services systems.
• Produce and review technical calculations, specifications, reports, and detailed design drawings.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow MEP engineers throughout project delivery.
• Mentor and support Graduate and Intermediate Engineers, providing technical guidance and development.
• Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure design compliance.
• Ensure all designs comply with current UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry best practice.

About You

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Significant experience working within a building services consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering mechanical building services designs across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design, alongside UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Proficient in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES VE, Hevacomp, or similar design packages.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership (MCIBSE or equivalent), is desirable.
• A collaborative approach with a passion for mentoring junior engineers and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
