FS Recruitment Services is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an established consultancy working across residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare and high-rise developments.

This opportunity suits an experienced mechanical building services engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, guiding other engineers and building strong client relationships.

You’ll join a collaborative team with support for professional development, exposure to varied projects and the opportunity to influence sustainable, energy-efficient design.

The opportunity

You’ll lead the design and development of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, public health/plumbing and fire protection, taking responsibility for technical quality and supporting projects through design, installation and commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading mechanical designs that meet project requirements, UK regulations and quality standards.

• Carrying out feasibility studies and working with clients, engineers and other stakeholders to establish practical design solutions.

• Providing technical guidance and supporting the development of engineering colleagues.

• Monitoring project progress, budgets and risks, resolving issues as they arise.

• Contributing to tenders and client presentations, helping secure new work and strengthen existing relationships.

• Incorporating sustainability, energy efficiency and relevant technical developments into your designs.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a proven track record in mechanical building services engineering, with the technical confidence to lead projects and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

We’re looking for:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong experience designing mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.

• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit and IES.

• A sound understanding of UK building regulations, relevant codes and sustainability standards.

• The ability to manage competing project priorities and solve technical problems.

• Clear communication skills and experience providing technical leadership.

Experience delivering projects in London would be an advantage.
