Senior Operations and Sales Director

Location: City of London, UK

Salary: Up to £120,000pa (DOE) + Car Allowance + Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for a large UK business operating within the international logistics and supply chain industry.
• Drive commercial growth, operational performance, and profitability across all business functions.
• Lead and develop senior management teams across Operations, Sales, Commercial, Customer Service, and Shared Services.
• Deliver business objectives through effective leadership, strategic planning, and performance management.
• Develop and implement long-term business strategies to support continued growth and market expansion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities and maximise revenue through commercial excellence.
• Ensure exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Lead organisational change and business transformation initiatives where required.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
• Represent the business at senior customer meetings, commercial negotiations, and industry events.

Requirements:

• Director/Senior Director-level experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain.
• Extensive leadership across Operations, Sales, Commercial, and Customer Service.
• Proven success leading large, multi-disciplinary teams in complex logistics environments.
• Strong commercial, financial, and operational acumen, including budget and P&L ownership.
• Proven track record of driving growth, profitability, and strategic business plans.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence at executive level and build strong customer and partner relationships.
• Strong understanding of international logistics, supply chain operations, and market dynamics.
• Container shipping, ocean freight, or international liner experience highly advantageous.
• Results-driven, adaptable, and willing to travel in the UK and internationally.
