Senior - Principal Electrical Design Engineer
City of London | 9 Day Fortnight | Hybrid Working | Up to £70k

The Opportunity

As a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while helping to shape the future direction of the team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys both the technical and client-facing aspects of engineering and is looking to take the next step towards leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design delivery on a range of building services projects
• Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design
• Manage project programmes, resources, and deliverables
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and design teams
• Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to develop technical capability within the team
• Undertake design reviews and provide technical guidance across projects
• Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of client relationships
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, sustainability, and building physics specialists to deliver integrated design solutions

What We're Looking For

• Experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of power, lighting, small power, life safety systems, and relevant UK standards
• Proven experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare, or mixed-use developments
• Ability to manage projects and maintain strong client relationships
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers
• Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
