Senior Project Engineer

Job Description and Overall Aims
The role requires someone who is ambitious, motivated and who is keen to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced project environment. You should possess a strong working knowledge of Senior Project Engineering in a related industry. Possess an energetic personality as well as fit into our company culture and share our values. You will be responsible for a team of one or more Project Engineers and will support the Project Managers, and in some cases act as Project Manager on a day-to-day basis in the execution of projects. Allocating, mentoring and training Project Engineers across all projects in execution.
The role will strengthen the Project Department and duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for allocating Project Engineers across the projects in execution to ensure adequate resourcing is maintained.
Responsible for the mentoring, training and annual appraisals of a team of Project Engineers to ensure that motivation and skills are maintained/enhanced.
Assist with the support of a team of Project Engineers to ensure all project deliverables are executed within a timely and cost-effective manner.
Evaluate, organise and prioritise workload within an agreed schedule.
Where necessary, act as Project Manager and assume accountability and authority for all project execution phases and gates, drawing upon the support and coordination of internal group stakeholders such as engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, QHSE and test team.
Assumes accountability for all commercial, contractual, and technical project deliverables working as customer point of contact and collaborating with internal stakeholder in supporting roles.
Identify opportunities for margin improvement through cost out initiatives and customer variation order process where appropriate.
Control all aspects of the cost and budget on projects.
Scheduling and day-to-day management of the project(s) under your control.
Instruct Supply Chain (via Bill of Materials) place and expedite key subcontracts and manage their deliveries.
Ensure compliance with industry and company standards, including project specific technical specifications.
Actively execute a strong SHQE and continuous improvement culture.
Support Sales & Proposals team in tendering, where required.
Build and maintain relationships with client teams.
Support additional projects in the absence of team members.
Support the Project Managers as required.
