Job Description:

We are working with a specialist engineering and infrastructure business that provides innovative technologies and services to the UK utilities market.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Senior Sales Manager to lead the commercial development of specialist pipeline rehabilitation, intervention and associated technical services across the UK.

The primary focus of the role will be the water and wastewater sector, working with water companies, engineering consultants, framework partners and delivery contractors..

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with UK utlity companies (including water)
• Build relationships across technical, engineering, asset management, innovation, operational, procurement and commercial teams.
• Identify customer asset challenges and develop appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
• Promote specialist services and equipment
• Influence specifications and engage with customers and consultants at an early stage of project development.
• Identify opportunities across AMP programmes, capital delivery, maintenance, rehabilitation and framework contracts.
• Identify new applications, markets and opportunities for existing and emerging technologies.
• Lead opportunities from initial technical discussions through to quotation, contract award and handover.
• Coordinate technical trials, demonstrations, product approvals and customer evaluations.
• Support the preparation of technical proposals, specifications, business cases, presentations, tenders and framework submissions.
• Manage pricing, margin and commercial risk within agreed authority levels.
• Use industry intelligence and sources such as Barbour ABI to identify early-stage project opportunities.
• Maintain regular customer engagement through meetings, site visits, technical presentations, conferences and industry events.
• Ensure effective handover of secured projects into the operational delivery team.

Our client is looking for an experienced commercial or technical sales professional with a strong understanding of the UK utilities market.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven commercial or technical sales experience within the UK utilities sector
• Experience working with water companies and their technical, engineering, asset management and operational teams.
• A strong understanding of AMP cycles, utility procurement and framework delivery models.
• Experience in specification-led, consultative or solution-based sales.
• A proven track record in account management and business development.
• The ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into compelling commercial propositions.
• Strong commercial, negotiation, forecasting and pipeline management skills.
