Job Description:

Senior Site Manager – Manchester / North West

Our client is a long established main contractor who specialise in projects in the Industrial, Retail, Commercial and Education sectors are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to take day-to-day responsibility for new-build projects across the North West. The immediate workload comprises retail, warehouse and industrial schemes typically valued at £5m–£6m.

The role

You will lead site delivery from mobilisation through completion, maintaining control of programme, health and safety, quality and subcontractor performance. You will coordinate site teams and supply-chain partners, communicate progress clearly and resolve delivery issues while working with a good degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient day-to-day running of the site.

• Manage programme, sequencing, quality and progress.

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.

• Maintain high standards of health, safety and site presentation.

• Report progress and risks clearly to the project and client teams.

• Drive the project through to a successful handover.

Essential experience

• A strong track record leading construction sites as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager.

• Experience delivering new-build schemes in sectors such as retail, warehousing or industrial construction.

• Stable employment history and evidence of taking responsibility for general site leadership.

• Strong organisational, communication and subcontractor-management skills.

Recent steel-frame experience is not essential. Candidates whose experience is limited solely to housebuilding are unlikely to suit this requirement.

Package

• Salary: circa £60,000–£62,000 per annum + £6,000 Car Allowance
