This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to progress into a senior position. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in leading the team, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and helping the people we support achieve greater independence and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the staff team during shifts, ensuring the service runs safely and effectively.
• Promote person-centred support, dignity, choice and independence.
• Lead by example and create a positive, supportive team environment.
• Support colleagues with guidance, induction, training and development.
• Work closely with management, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Manage safeguarding concerns, risks, incidents, medication and daily service requirements appropriately.
• Ensure support plans, risk assessments and records are maintained to a high standard.
• Support audits, quality monitoring and compliance across the service.
• Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and make appropriate decisions in the absence of management.
• Identify training and development needs and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the service.

Essential

• Experience within health and social care, supported living or a similar environment.
• Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or experienced support worker role.
• Strong understanding of person-centred support and safeguarding.
• Good communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• A genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence.
• Motivation to develop your career and take on additional responsibility.

Desirable

• Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent.
• Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience.
• Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and medication management.
• Experience supporting staff development, audits and care documentation.
