Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer – Energy Storage Systems
Rate: Negotiable (in line with experience)
Location: Oxford/Banbury – 3 months (potential to extend)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of an energy storage program utilizing electric motors, power inverters, and battery systems. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for defining system requirements, ensuring subsystem integration, managing technical risks, and supporting the full system lifecycle from concept through deployment and operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and manage system-level requirements for energy storage systems.
Develop system architectures integrating batteries, inverters, motors, controls, and thermal management.
Lead system integration activities across electrical, mechanical, software, and controls domains.
Perform system trade studies, performance analysis, and failure mode analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
Ensure compatibility and interface definition between batteries, power electronics, and motors
Support system validation, verification, and testing (V&V).
Monitor system efficiency, safety, reliability, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineering teams on component selection and qualification.
Support compliance with applicable standards and regulations (UL, IEC, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, etc.)
Develop and maintain system documentation, block diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs).
Support commissioning, field troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts
Day to day program management supported by Head of Program and ED.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
