Service Manager
Kettering
£55,000 – £65,000 + Package + Vehicle + Bonus

NEOS Engineering are recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to join a well-established and growing business within the Heavy Plant & Construction Equipment sector based in Kettering.

This is not simply an engineering management role. Our client is looking for somebody who is highly commercially astute and can take real ownership of the service department – driving revenue, developing customers and ensuring the engineering operation is profitable and efficient.

The Role:

• Manage and develop a team of Field Service & Workshop Engineers

• Drive revenue and profitability across the service department

• Proactively identify and win new service, repair and maintenance business

• Develop existing customers through strong Key Account Management

• Negotiate warranty claims with manufacturers and suppliers

• Manage service contracts and identify additional revenue opportunities

• Maximise engineer utilisation, productivity and efficiency

• Build strong relationships with key customers

• Monitor departmental margins, performance and KPIs

• Ensure customers receive an excellent level of technical and commercial support

The Person:

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, Engineering Manager or Service Operations Manager, ideally from the Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Machinery, Quarrying, Recycling or associated equipment sectors.

The key requirement is commercial ability. You need to understand how to grow a service department, win business, negotiate effectively, manage key accounts and understand the numbers behind a profitable engineering operation.

Alongside this, you’ll be a strong people manager capable of leading, motivating and developing a team of engineers.

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Package
