Job Description:

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in earthworks to join a major infrastructure package on the HS2 project in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile civil engineering projects.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of bulk earthworks and associated civils works, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

• Setting out for earthworks and associated civil engineering works
• Managing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Carrying out quality assurance checks and maintaining accurate site records
• Producing as-built surveys and documentation
• Supporting subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme targets are achieved
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with health & safety standards and project requirements
• Liaising with project managers, supervisors, and technical teams on site

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects
• Strong earthworks experience is essential
• Competent with setting out equipment including GPS and robotic total stations
• Experience with QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records
• CSCS card required
• SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
• Previous experience on rail, highways, or large-scale infrastructure projects advantageous
