Job Description:
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major tunnelling scheme.
You will be responsible for setting out and overseeing a range of tunnel-related construction activities, including walkways, bridges, and cross passage packages, while ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications.
Site Engineer Responsibilities:
- Setting out works including walkways, access bridges, and cross passage packages.
- Supporting the delivery of tunnelling and associated civil engineering works.
- Setting out and supervising: Tunnelling works, FRC works, SCL works and Shuttering and concrete works.
- Ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Undertaking QA/QC inspections and maintaining quality records.
Site Engineer Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on tunnelling, rail, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Strong setting out experience using modern surveying equipment.
- Experience with tunnelling, FRC, SCL, and shuttering/concrete works.
- Good understanding of QA/QC processes and construction record keeping.

- CSCS White Card
- SMSTS or SSSTS
