Freelance Site Engineer – Groundworks 
Leicestershire 
Start Date: 06/07/2026
Duration: 6 Months
£300 - £350 PER DAY 

SOS Group are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a busy groundworks and civil engineering project on a 6-month contract commencing on 6th July 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong setting out experience to join a well-established contractor delivering a substantial groundworks package.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting out for, drainage, roads, foundations and associated infrastructure.
• Producing and maintaining accurate QA records.
• Managing and reviewing as-built surveys.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Supporting site teams with technical queries and engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Competent using Leica, Topcon or Trimble equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and site documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• CSCS Card essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
