Site Engineer

Location: Canary Wharf, London
Contract: Freelance – 2 Year Contract
Rate: £375 - £400 per day

The Opportunity

A leading Tier One Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major high-rise development in Canary Wharf.

Working on one of London's flagship residential developments, you'll play a key role in delivering the façade and internal fit-out packages to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project with a contractor renowned for delivering complex, large-scale developments using innovative construction methods and modern building techniques.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for façade installation works.
• Managing setting out and quality control for internal fit-out packages, including kitchens, bathrooms and associated finishes.
• Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme.
• Carrying out quality assurance inspections and maintaining accurate QA records.
• Coordinating subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• Producing and maintaining as-built records.
• Resolving technical queries alongside the site management and design teams.
• Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential issues.
• Ensuring works comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Supporting site management with engineering solutions throughout the construction process.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer for a Tier One or Tier Two Main Contractor.
• Strong experience delivering façade packages on large-scale residential or commercial developments.
• Proven background in internal fit-out works, including:
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms
  • High-quality residential finishes
• Excellent setting out skills using Leica or Trimble equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and quality management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication skills with subcontractors, consultants and project teams.
• CSCS Card essential.
• SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
