Site Manager – Groundworks

Location: SN14 0UX - Chippenham
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Long-Term / Ongoing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established build contractor to work on their groundworks side (self delivery) on a long-term project in Chippenham.

The project involves groundworks and civil engineering works associated with a large building – large shed  The successful Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, coordinating multiple gangs and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate 3–4 groundworks/civils gangs working across site.
• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring works are completed to programme and specification.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and deliveries to ensure the project remains on schedule.
• Manage material and plant orders, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, H&S procedures and site requirements.
• Monitor quality of works and ensure any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and relevant project documentation.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on progress.
• Ideally utilise Procore for site documentation, reporting and project management.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager within groundworks and civils.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, concrete and general civil engineering operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple gangs and subcontractors effectively.
• Good knowledge of health & safety requirements and site procedures.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Procore experience is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid CSCS and SMSTS.
