Site Manager – Commercial Refurbishment & Construction

North London

£55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance / Company Vehicle + Bonus + Excellent Package

Elite Construction Talent are recruiting on behalf of an established Principal Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishment and construction projects across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with exceptional all-round building knowledge who can confidently manage refurbishment and construction projects from enabling works through to final handover.

Projects are delivered nationwide across the commercial, retail, healthcare, veterinary and specialist refurbishment sectors. The successful candidate should be willing to travel throughout the UK as required, with the initial project based in North London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys technically challenging projects and has experience managing structural alterations, building fabric repairs, refurbishment and internal fit-out works to the highest standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of refurbishment and construction projects from site set-up through to completion and client handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage refurbishment and construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers.
• Manage structural alterations, demolition, building fabric repairs and internal fit-out works.
• Oversee programmes, site logistics and sequencing of works.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
• Carry out quality inspections and maintain QA standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Complete site records, progress reports and programme updates.
• Promote and maintain the highest Health & Safety standards on site.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering refurbishment and construction projects.
• Excellent all-round building knowledge across structural works, building fabric, roofing, internal finishes and refurbishment.
• Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Confident working within occupied or live environments.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and buildability.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience within commercial, retail, healthcare, veterinary, education or similar refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
• Flexible approach to nationwide travel, with willingness to work away from home when required to support projects across the UK.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
