Job Description:

Site Manager – 16-Week Contract

Location: Glasgow 
Start Date: 19th October – potentially earlier
Duration: 16 weeks
Project Value: £700k

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a £700k small civils project involving the construction of a new car park and subsequent highway works.

The project is taking place within a live operational environment, so we are looking for someone who is confident managing a site, dealing with subcontractors and communicating directly with the client and other stakeholders.

The Role:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the site
• Overseeing the subcontractor and two full-time foremen
• Managing new drainage and attenuation tank works
• Overseeing emergency service access and site logistics
• Moving onto highway works following completion of the car park
• Reviewing GPE surveys and project information
• Managing permits and site paperwork
• Dealing directly with the client on a daily basis
• Managing access and stakeholder engagement
• Ensuring works are completed safely and to programme

About You:

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager on civils projects
• Strong small civils and groundworks experience
• SMSTS essential
• NRSWA likely to be essential
• Experience working in a live operational environment would be beneficial
• Previous experience within a large construction group would be advantageous
• Confident dealing with clients and stakeholders
• Calm under pressure with a professional approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Able to work independently and take ownership of the site

For the first few weeks, there will be additional support on site before you take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking for a 16-week civils contract with responsibility for both site operations and client management.
