Site Manager

Location: South Wales
Contract: Long-term contract
Rate: Up to £390 per day
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to support the construction of a major ground-mounted Solar PV development in South Wales.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for day-to-day site delivery, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring the project maintains the required standards across safety, quality and programme.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily site construction activity
Lead and coordinate subcontractors and site teams
Monitor progress against the construction programme
Manage site resources and upcoming works
Maintain strong HSE standards
Monitor construction quality and compliance
Review drawings, specifications and site documentation
Manage defects and corrective actions
Coordinate with project management and engineering teams
Support commissioning and final project handover
Essential experience:
Strong recent utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV experience
Previous Site Manager experience
Proven subcontractor management capability
Civil, Electrical or Mechanical construction/engineering background
Strong understanding of site HSE and quality requirements
UK driving licence
Qualifications / certifications:
SMSTS
Black CSCS or Black ECS Card
3-day First Aid certification
NVQ Level 6+ in Construction Management or relevant engineering discipline preferred
Strong candidates actively progressing towards NVQ Level 6 / Black Card may also be considered.
TWC / Temporary Works Coordinator experience would be advantageous.
Civil construction experience would be particularly valuable, especially across roads, drainage, foundations, structures and enabling works.
