Job Description:

Site Supervisor – Civil Engineering
Location: Yorkshire-based projects
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience

An established civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit a permanent Site Supervisor to support projects across the Yorkshire region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a strong general civils background who is comfortable managing site teams, driving the programme, maintaining quality standards and ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with client expectations.

The business is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation across water, wastewater, drainage, highways, public realm, infrastructure and environmental schemes. With regional offices supporting its Yorkshire operations, the company delivers a wide range of projects for public and private sector clients, with a continued focus on safety, quality, sustainability and long-term client relationships.

The Role

As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily site activity across civil engineering projects throughout Yorkshire. You will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard, while supporting the wider site and project management teams.

Duties will include:

• Supervising site teams, subcontractors and day-to-day site operations

• Reviewing RAMS, method statements and associated site paperwork

• Briefing the workforce and ensuring safe systems of work are followed

• Managing site quality, compliance and health & safety standards

• Driving progress on site and helping ensure works are delivered to programme

• Supporting site audits, inspections and client requirements

• Ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and company procedures

• Liaising with management, operatives, subcontractors and other stakeholders

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience working on general civil engineering projects and will be confident supervising works on live sites.

You should have:

• Experience within general civils, infrastructure, drainage, highways, utilities, water or similar civil engineering environments

• The ability to manage site teams and drive works forward to programme

• Strong understanding of RAMS, method statements, quality and site compliance

• Good communication skills and the ability to brief and manage the workforce effectively

• Flexibility to travel to projects across Yorkshire

• SSSTS or SMSTS – Essential

• First Aid – Essential

• SEATS – Preferable

• Temporary Works Supervisor – Preferable

• Lifting Supervisor – Preferable
