Smart Building Installation Engineer
London (Zones 1–2)

We’re hiring a Structured Cabling Engineer to join a leading smart building technology provider, delivering high-quality infrastructure across commercial offices, studios, and data centres.

This is a hands-on role focused on copper & fibre installations, with the opportunity to build experience across wider smart building technologies including IoT, Wi-Fi, AV, and security systems. You’ll be working on varied projects across multiple sites, supporting full lifecycle delivery from installation through to maintenance and fault finding.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate and test copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fibre (OS1/2, OM3/4/5) cabling
• Deliver structured cabling projects across commercial environments
• Install containment (tray, basket, trunking, conduit)
• Rack, stack and patch network equipment (switches, routers, servers)
• Install devices including Wi-Fi APs, IoT sensors, AV and security systems
• Test using Fluke equipment and ensure compliance with standards
• Support commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding
• Complete documentation and follow H&S procedures

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling / ICT infrastructure
• Strong copper & fibre installation experience
• ECS/CSCS card
• Relevant certification (BICSI, CNet or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence

• Salary up to £40,000
