Solar O&M Electrician

Location

Bristol / South West / Swindon / Reading

Reasonable amount of nationwide travel expected.

The Role

Solarsense UK Ltd is looking for a motivated and experienced Solar O&M Electrician to join our growing Operations & Maintenance team.

This role involves maintaining, fault-finding, servicing and repairing commercial and domestic solar PV systems, battery storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure across the operating regions and occasionally further afield.

Main Duties

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on solar PV and battery storage systems

Diagnose and rectify faults on PV systems, inverters, optimisers, batteries and monitoring platforms

Perform electrical testing and inspection works

Complete reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs where required

Produce clear service reports and photographic records

Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and subcontractors

Support commissioning and remedial works when required

Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with BS7671, MCS and company procedures

Required

Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

18th Edition qualification

Strong fault-finding abilities

Full UK driving licence

Comfortable working at height and outdoors

Good communication and organisational skills

ECS Gold Card

Strong customer service skills and confident in customer-facing situations

Proficient in the use of IT and CRM systems

Desirable

City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification

BPEC or LCL Awards qualifications in Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging installations

Experience at domestic residential, commercial, ground mount and utility-scale PV sites

Experience with battery storage systems and EV charging equipment

IPAF, PASMA or working at height qualifications

Knowledge of monitoring platforms and remote diagnostics
