Stores & Logistics Coordinator

Location: Aberdeen
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 8 hours per day; Friday, 5.5 hours
Contract: Permanent

An established engineering organisation supporting the offshore energy sector is looking to appoint an experienced Stores & Logistics Coordinator to join its operations team in Aberdeen.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining stores, materials control, procurement, logistics and administration. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring project materials and equipment are correctly identified, ordered, received, controlled and prepared for mobilisation.

The Role

Working closely with engineers, technicians, suppliers and logistics providers, the Stores & Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the efficient movement and control of materials and equipment from procurement through to receipt, storage and dispatch.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing inventory, stock locations and equipment movements using an ERP system
• Raising purchase requisitions and placing purchase orders for project and workshop requirements
• Obtaining and negotiating supplier quotations to support best value
• Monitoring and expediting orders through to delivery
• Receiving and issuing stock and maintaining accurate system records
• Carrying out goods-in checks against purchase requirements
• Preparing and issuing project material kits
• Packing and unpacking equipment for offshore mobilisation and return
• Preparing shipping documentation, including delivery paperwork and Certificates of Conformity
• Coordinating the on-hire and off-hire of rental equipment
• Preparing materials and documentation for import/export shipments
• Liaising with freight forwarders, transport providers and suppliers
• Supporting asset management and stock reporting requirements
• Maintaining safe storage practices, including the handling of controlled materials
• Ensuring stores and logistics activities are completed in accordance with relevant quality, environmental and health & safety procedures

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have previous stores, materials or logistics experience within an engineering, offshore, oil & gas or similarly technical environment.

They should also demonstrate:

• Previous experience within stores or warehouse operations
• Knowledge of import/export processes and shipping documentation
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence using ERP or stock-management systems
• Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider operations team
• A flexible, practical approach and willingness to learn
• A valid UK driving licence
• A forklift truck licence

The position offers a salary of approximately £28,000 – £34,000 depending on experience, alongside a 37.5-hour working week with an early finish on Friday.
