Job Description:

A well-established aircraft engineering business is looking for an experienced Storekeeper to join its friendly and supportive team.

This is a hands-on stores role within an engineering environment, responsible for ordering, receiving, checking, picking and issuing components, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring the stores area is kept organised and efficient.

The Role

The successful Storekeeper will be responsible for:

• Liaising with the restoration and maintenance teams and suppliers to source and order components and raw materials as required.
• Organise for manufactured components to be sent to surface treatment subcontractors for CAD plating/Anodising as required and track the progress of the components.
• Assist with the outsourcing of subcontract machining tasks and track order progress.
• Managing deliveries into the stores, booking in incoming parts and checking goods received for quality.
• Organise and deliver goods from stores to the relevant departments as required.
• Carrying out regular consumable stock checks.
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and locating parts efficiently.
• Booking parts in and out of the stores system.
• Identifying stock discrepancies and shortages.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the stores.
• Providing a professional and helpful service to colleagues across the business.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working within an engineering stores environment.
• Experience using computerised stock control or booking systems.
• Good numerical and data-entry skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive approach with good problem-solving ability.
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
• A forklift licence would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
