Welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Waltham Forest are seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join teir supportive teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to helping children with special educational needs thrive within a mainstream classroom setting.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in ensuring all children can access the curriculum, develop socially, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide in-class support for pupils with a variety of SEN needs
- Assist the teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff
The Ideal Candidate- Has proven experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of a range of special educational needs
- Is patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting children
- Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff and pupils
- Holds relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
