Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected care provider for a Team Leader / Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated support team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about making a positive difference, supporting individuals to maintain their independence, and ensuring they receive high-quality, person-centred care.
Working as part of a committed team, you will play an important role in supporting both individuals and colleagues. You will provide guidance to Support Workers, help coordinate the day-to-day running of the service, and ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with individual needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate a team of Support Workers to deliver high standards of care.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision and support to colleagues, helping them develop within their roles.
• Assist with planning staff rotas and coordinating daily activities to ensure effective service delivery.
• Support individuals with their personal goals, daily activities and independence.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues and external professionals.
• Contribute to support plans, risk assessments and reviews, ensuring individual needs are understood and met.
• Monitor care standards and ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained.
• Support with staff inductions, training and ongoing development.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting best practice and a compassionate approach to care.
• Respond to day-to-day challenges, providing support and guidance to the wider team.
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing across the service.
• Assist with meetings, reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working within adult social care, support work or a similar care environment.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting colleagues would be highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of person-centred care and supporting individuals to live as independently as possible.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Confident working with support plans, risk assessments and care documentation.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and support a team effectively.
• Calm, patient and proactive approach when dealing with different situations.
• Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
• Willingness to undertake training and continue professional development.
• Level 3 Adult Care qualification (or equivalent) would be desirable, or willingness to work towards this.
