Technical Manager – Roofing & Cladding

💰 £40,000 – £70,000 DOE
🕒 Full-Time | Permanent

An established and growing construction products business is seeking an experienced Technical Manager with strong roofing and cladding expertise to join its team based in Avonmouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in metal roofing, cladding systems, or building envelope products who enjoys a varied role combining technical support, specification writing, site involvement, and contractor liaison across commercial and industrial projects.

The Role

You will provide technical leadership and support across a range of roofing and cladding systems, working closely with contractors, clients, and internal sales teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing and reviewing roofing and cladding specifications
• Providing technical support to contractors, customers, and the sales team
• Conducting site visits, inspections, and quality checks
• Producing technical drawings and details using AutoCAD
• Assisting with thermal calculations and compliance requirements
• Delivering technical and product training presentations
• Liaising with external suppliers and project stakeholders
• Ensuring technical documentation, certifications, and resources remain up to date

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must have previous technical experience within roofing, cladding, or building envelope materials.

Suitable backgrounds may include:

• Technical management
• Roofing/cladding specification
• Design coordination
• Project management
• Site supervision

Experience and skills required:

• Strong technical understanding of roofing and cladding systems
• Knowledge of metal roofing systems highly advantageous
• Understanding of construction design and building regulations

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Comfortable attending construction sites and client meetings
