£35,000 - £45,000 + Technical Training + Clear Progression + International Travel + No Cold Calling + Long-Term Development

Saltash, Cornwall (Commutable from: Plymouth, Liskeard, Tavistock, Ivybridge, Torpoint, Bodmin, Launceston, Callington)

Are you a Technical Sales Engineer / Technical Engineer with an Industrial / Manufacturing / Marine background looking for a role where you can develop long-term, gain specialist technical training, and progress as the business grows? Do you want a customer-facing position where you'll get real ownership of projects, work on varied industrial machinery solutions, and build your commercial skillset without cold calling?

On offer is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing specialist engineering business, where you will be fully supported to develop your product knowledge and sales capability through hands-on training and direct mentorship from the Sales Director.

This company are a solutions-led consultancy and equipment supplier working across a wide range of technical industries (including industrial machinery and advanced manufacturing), known for delivering interesting, technically challenging projects. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add to their Business Development team with this brand-new role.

In this position you will work through the full customer journey: understanding applications, producing costings and quotations (standard and bespoke equipment), creating CAD-based process diagrams, and developing towards equipment demonstrations and commissioning. The role is based in Saltash with UK and international travel, including occasional overnight stays.

This role would suit a Technical Sales Engineer (or an Engineer looking to move into technical sales) who wants long-term development, variety, and clear progression as the company continues to grow.

The Role:

• Technical sales role managing the full customer journey from initial enquiry to quotation, order and delivery
• Costings from Bills of Materials, quotations for standard and bespoke equipment, and sales order processing
• CAD-based process diagrams and technical liaison with Engineering / R&D teams
• Developing towards customer demonstrations and commissioning of standard equipment
• Based in Saltash with UK & international travel and occasional overnight stays (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm)

The Person:

• Background in technical sales / sales engineering, or an engineering background with the desire to move into a customer-facing commercial role
• Comfortable producing technical quotations/costings and working with CAD/technical information
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (UK and internationally) when required
