We’re working with an established business looking to recruit a technically capable, customer-focused professional to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with relationship building, sales development and commercial decision-making.

You’ll take ownership of opportunities from the initial enquiry through to order, ensuring solutions are technically sound, commercially viable and ready for delivery.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining technical consultation, sales, estimating and project coordination. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to develop solutions, secure business and ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a technical point of contact for customers, advising on products, specifications and suitable solutions.

• Reviewing customer enquiries and translating technical requirements into accurate quotations and proposals.

• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and product information to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.

• Calculating job costs, preparing profitability forecasts and ensuring appropriate margins are achieved.

• Proactively following up leads, quotations and existing opportunities to convert enquiries into orders.

• Building strong relationships with new and existing customers, identifying opportunities to grow revenue.

• Conducting customer visits, site assessments, product demonstrations and technical briefings where required.

• Preparing accurate technical information and ensuring a smooth handover to the operations team.

• Monitoring sales activity, maintaining pipeline information and supporting reporting and marketing activities.

• Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with customer expectations.

We’re looking for someone who combines technical confidence with commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in technical sales, engineering sales, estimating, applications engineering or a similar technical-commercial role.

• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and product information.

• Experience preparing quotations, costing jobs and understanding profit margins.

• Strong customer-facing skills, with the confidence to discuss technical requirements with engineers, site managers and commercial stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to following up opportunities, developing relationships and winning business.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines.

• The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and practically.
