Transport Planner | Swindon

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £33,000,00 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40hr week

The Role

A leading 3PL and distribution business in the Swindon area are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to support its day-to-day transport operation.

You’ll be responsible for planning vehicle movements, coordinating drivers, ensuring customer requirements are met, and maintaining compliance across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements and driver schedules across the UK
• Ensure fleet utilisation is efficient and cost-effective
• Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance, and transport KPIs
• Maintain transport records, servicing schedules, and compliance documentation
• Support route optimisation to improve efficiency and service levels
• Assist with fleet maintenance planning, MOTs, and defect reporting

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in a Transport Planner / Transport Coordinator role
• Strong understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations, and transport compliance
• Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Knowledge of O Licence compliance
• Previous experience within 3PL or multi-customer operations

Salary & Benefits
