Transport Planning ManagerEssex - Permanent Pure Resourcing Solutions is partnering with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit a
Transport Planning Manager into a key logistics leadership role.
This position will suit an experienced transport or logistics professional who enjoys operating at the heart of daily operations — coordinating haulage, managing live transport activities, and acting as the central point of contact for customer and internal logistics movements.
The roleReporting into the wider supply chain function, you’ll take ownership of transport planning and execution across multiple locations. This is a hands-on role with genuine responsibility, combining operational oversight with proactive problem-solving.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating all transport and haulage activity across allocated sites
- Acting as first point of escalation for transport issues, delays, or disruptions
- Managing live fleet tracking and vehicle positioning against the plan
- Planning and arranging haulage for stock transfers, sales orders, and third-party movements
- Maintaining and updating the central logistics planner to ensure accuracy and visibility
- Liaising closely with production planning, supply chain, hauliers, and external partners
- Driving best practice in transport coordination with a focus on cost, efficiency, and service
About youYou’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment where attention to detail and clear communication are critical.
We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similar role
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with a proactive, forward-thinking approach
- Confidence dealing with hauliers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Strong IT capability, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP knowledge would be advantageous)
- A team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to support wider operations when required
