WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

PERMANENT, FULL-TIME  ·  CHIPPING NORTON, OXFORDSHIRE  ·  £28,000 + BENEFITS

A long-established, family-run flour miller looking for a forklift-licensed operative to help keep the mill moving.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A respected, family-run flour miller in the Cotswolds is looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a business that takes real pride in its product and its people, supplying quality flour to bakers, food producers and retailers across the country.

THE ROLE

Working Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, you will bridge the afternoon and night shifts and keep the warehouse running. You will work independently from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with management reachable by phone, then work alongside the night-shift operative from 8:00 PM. The day to day is loading lorries, picking orders and keeping the warehouse clean, safe and well organised.

Flexibility matters here. When the night-shift operative is on leave, you will cover the full night shift for up to around 25 days a year. Your own transport is essential, given the hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load lorries accurately and safely, ready for dispatch.

• Pick orders to the required quality and accuracy standards.

• Operate a forklift truck as part of the day-to-day role.

• Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, organised and safe at all times.

• Work on your own early in the shift, then alongside the night-shift operative.

• Cover the full night shift when needed, up to around 25 days a year.

ABOUT YOU

• An experienced warehouse operative, comfortable with loading, picking and housekeeping.

• A forklift licence is essential. An in-house licence is fine and a refresher can be provided.

• Lorry shunting experience is a real plus but not essential (yard only, short distances).

• A genuine self-starter, happy to work alone for part of the shift with management on the phone.

• Reliable and settled, looking for a role to stay in.

• Your own transport, given the hours and the location.
