Warehouse Operative
Location: Tewkesbury
Salary £13.00 per hour 9-5 Monday to Friday
Full time 9-5 Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Temp cover 02/11/26 - 27/11/26

Duties


Responsible for the efficient and safe storage, handling, and distribution of company products within the cold store environment. The role ensures that all tasks are completed in compliance with food safety standards, health & safety regulations, and company procedures. The operative also plays a key role in supporting the wider logistics team, including assisting the Logistics Manager where required.

Key Responsibilities


Ensure all products are received, stored, and distributed in line with the company's Food Safety Policy and BRC standards.
Follow company HACCP guidelines.
Complete all necessary food safety and hygiene records accurately and on time.
Maintain traceability of goods through accurate documentation.
Keep the cold store clean, well-organized, and free of obstructions or ice.
Report any damages, equipment faults, or required repairs promptly.
Complete all assigned daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Pick orders accurately, ensuring they are prepared on time and in good condition.
Handle products carefully to maintain quality and reduce waste or damage.
Ensure all dispatch paperwork is correctly completed and processed.
Carry out stock rotation using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
Ensure stock levels are accurate and up to date.
Participate in regular stock takes and cycle counts, following the company's stock take process.
Accurately count and record all incoming deliveries.
Check goods against delivery notes, ensuring quality and condition meet company standards.
Report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages promptly.
Ensure all incoming stock is correctly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
Take reasonable steps to protect company property, products, and assets.
Challenge any unauthorised personnel on site.
Report any incidents of misconduct, breaches of security, or suspicious activity.
Weekly fire alarm testing
Provide support and assistance to the Logistics Manager as needed.
Assist with planning, vehicle routing, and scheduling to ensure smooth operations.
Take responsibility for routing and logistics tasks during the Logistics Manager's absence.
Communicate effectively with the logistics team to address operational challenges.
Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues to meet deadlines and performance targets.
Follow all company health & safety procedures and report any hazards or near misses.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance, representing the company's values.
Participate in training sessions and ongoing development to enhance skills and performance.


This is a temporary role from 02/11/26 to 27/11/26 with the possibility of being extended dependant on seasonal demands
