Job Description:

We have exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our clients growing team based in Cheshunt. The Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient movement of goods through the warehouse, from receipt and storage through to picking, packing and despatch. The role supports stock availability, inventory accuracy, customer service and a well-organised working environment.

This role is temp to perm and the working hours are 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday however, during training the hours will be 8am-5pm. The salary on offer is £26,500-£29,000 depending on experience. Our client would consider both experienced and trainee candidates looking to learn and develop within this role.

Duties include:

• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely
• Check incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes and relevant documentation
• Record receipts accurately and report shortages or damage
• Label, identify and move accepted goods to the correct storage

• Replenish pick locations from bulk stock in line with demand
• Store and rotate stock correctly and carry out scheduled cycle counts
• Investigate and report stock discrepancies and record issues
• Maintain accurate stock movements using the company’s scanners

• Pick orders accurately and efficiently in accordance with pick lists
• Verify product codes, descriptions, quantities and condition before packing.
• Pack, label and palletise goods to the required standard

• Complete despatch checks and documentation
• Ensure orders are despatched accurately and within scheduled cut-off times.

• Measure and cut products and timber components to the correct dimensions
• Assemble bespoke pallets, timber frames and wooden cages
• Check finished items for dimensional accuracy

• Keep aisles, racking, workstations, loading areas and emergency access routes clean
• Handle goods safely and operate material-handling equipment

• Goods-receiving accuracy and timely system processing.
• Productivity against agreed output targets.
• Compliance with health and safety procedures and completion of required checks.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous warehouse, stores, logistics or distribution experience is desirable.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to pick, count and record stock accurately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
• Ability to work safely in a physically active, target-driven environment
• Reliable, punctual and flexible, with a positive approach to teamwork
• Good communication skills
• Experience using circular saws, jigsaws, nail guns and woodworking tools safely (desirable)
• A current forklift truck or other material-handling equipment licence (desirable), but not essential as training can be provided.
