Job Description:

Finance & Accounts Manager

Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per year
Location: Bromsgrove – office-based

Proactive Personnel are looking for an experienced and organised Finance & Accounts Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our clients' accounts and finance function.

This is a hands-on role within a small, established business. The successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, manage the purchase and sales ledgers, reconcile accounts and banks, control supplier payments, and provide the Directors with clear, reliable financial information.

Key Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Manage the day-to-day accounts and finance function
• Maintain the purchase and sales ledger and process supplier invoices
• Carry out regular bank and credit card reconciliations
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare and manage supplier payment runs
• Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with credit control
• Maintain accurate records of payments, receipts and expenses
• Monitor company cash flow and provide regular updates to the Director
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory accounting requirements
• Prepare month-end information and management reports and assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis when required
• Liaise with external accountants and provide information for year-end accounts
• Review existing accounting procedures and help improve financial controls and efficiency where appropriate

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance management role
• Good working knowledge of purchase ledger and sales ledger
• Experience preparing and processing supplier payments
• Good understanding of VAT and general accounting procedures
• Experience using QuickBooks is essential.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities
• The confidence to identify and investigate discrepancies
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to Directors and colleagues
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounts function
