Branch Manager (Industrial Sales)

On-Site - Skelmersdale | Thorite, part of Flowtech

We're opening a new Thorite branch in Skelmersdale and looking for a commercially driven, technically credible Branch Manager to grow the customer base, shape the local strategy and build a team as the branch develops. 

As the branch grows, you'll have the chance to increase sales, develop the local customer base and shape what the operation becomes. 

You don't need to be an existing Branch/Sales Manager, but experience in leadership, stock or supplier management would be advantageous. 

What's important is that you're commercially minded & comfortable winning new business. 

You'll ideally have experience within pneumatics, compressed air, fluid power or another technical engineering or industrial sales environment. 

You'll have genuine autonomy, but you won't be doing it alone. Thorite is part of Flowtech, one of the UK's leading suppliers of technical fluid power and engineering solutions, and you'll have the support, infrastructure and expertise of the wider business behind you. 

Who are we looking for? 

• A full UK driving license is essential. 

• You enjoy being out with customers and building relationships face to face. 

• You're proactive and comfortable opening doors, building relationships and creating opportunities. 

• You understand how to spot opportunities, develop them and turn them into revenue. 

• You have technical credibility and, where you don't know the answer, you're willing to work it out. 

• You don't need to know every product from day one, but you're comfortable having technical conversations and understanding customer challenges. 

• You're motivated by having the freedom to make things happen rather than simply following an existing blueprint. 

• You have the potential to lead as the branch grows 

  You will be responsible for: 

Growing a successful and profitable branch. 

This will include: 

• Shaping how the branch develops 

• Identifying local opportunities 

• Developing new business across the local territory & winning accounts 

• Managing and growing new and existing customer relationships 

• Increasing existing customers spend 

• Visiting customers and identifying new opportunities 

• Preparing quotations and following opportunities through to order stage 

• Driving sales growth, margin and profitability 

• Providing technical product advice and solutions 

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the branch 

• Working with suppliers and managing stock 

• Developing the local sales and growth strategy 

• Recruiting and leading additional sales colleagues as the branch expands
