Base Salary: Up to £70,000

On Target Earnings: £100,000

Job Overview:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and profitability. You will develop and implement sales plans, build and maintain strong relationships, and identify new business opportunities. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve growth goals in construction and M&E.
• Market Research: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and potential threats.
• New Business Identification: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, clients, and projects aligned with company expertise.
• Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key industry stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
• Proposal Development: Prepare compelling and competitive proposals, bids, and tenders for construction and M&E projects.
• Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote services.
• Team Leadership: Lead business development initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Financial Analysis: Evaluate project profitability, cost structures, and support budget development.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure projects with favourable terms.
• Performance Metrics: Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting strategies as needed.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities comply with legal and industry standards, managing risk effectively.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to business development activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Qualifications in business, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in business development within the construction and/or M&E sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction and M&E processes, market dynamics, and technical aspects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to analyse financial data and assess project viability.
• Proficiency in relevant business development and project management tools.
• Willingness to travel and attend industry events.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
