Business Development Manager – Fire & Security (Life Safety)

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager due to internal promotion. As a well-established, family-owned business with over 30 years of success in the Fire & Security industry, we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships, delivering exceptional service, and providing innovative life safety solutions to our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Business Development Manager /  sales professional who understands the Fire & Security sector and has a proven track record of winning new business across both installation projects and maintenance contracts.

The Role

Working closely with our Design & Estimation team, you'll identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across a wide range of sectors. From small commercial installations to major construction projects with values of up to £2 million, you'll play a key role in identifying and managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.

You'll be responsible for building strong client relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and representing the business throughout the tender process.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new business opportunities within the Fire & Security (Life Safety) sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with end users, main contractors, consultants and facilities management companies.
• Manage opportunities for both installation projects and service & maintenance contracts.
• Work collaboratively with the Design & Estimation team to prepare competitive, compliant tender submissions.
• Lead client meetings, presentations and bid clarification meetings.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
• Represent the company professionally at networking events, exhibitions and client meetings.
• Ensure a smooth handover of secured projects to the delivery teams.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Proven business development or sales experience within the Fire & Security (Life Safety) industry.
• A strong understanding of fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and life safety systems.
• Experience working on tender submissions alongside Design & Estimation teams.
• A successful track record of securing projects ranging from smaller commercial works through to major construction projects valued at up to £2 million.
• Experience selling both installation and maintenance/service contracts.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
• A full UK driving licence.
• The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
