Business Development Manager

Location: Bournemouth – ideally within a 1-hour commute
Salary: £37,500 + Car/Car Allowance + Commission
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing service-led business that is looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join its commercial team.

This is a genuine new-business-focused sales role, suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and converting prospects into long-term customers.

You will be responsible for developing new business across your territory, taking ownership of the sales process from initial prospecting through to winning and securing new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities within your territory.
• Generate your own leads through proactive outbound sales activity, networking and relationship building.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification through to negotiation and close.
• Understand customer requirements and present tailored service-led solutions.
• Develop a strong pipeline and consistently work towards agreed sales targets.
• Conduct face-to-face customer meetings and site visits where required.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and activity updates.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from winning new business through to customer delivery.
• Identify opportunities to grow and develop existing accounts.

About You

We are looking for a driven, commercially minded sales professional who is comfortable operating in a new-business environment.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in B2B service sales or a service-led environment.
• A strong track record of winning new business.
• Confidence with outbound prospecting, lead generation and business development.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and target-driven approach.
• The ability to manage your own pipeline and sales activity independently.
• A genuine hunger to develop your career and progress within a growing business.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the territory.

Experience within waste, recycling, environmental services or another related service-led industry would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.

What matters most is your sales ability, commercial mindset and experience winning new business within a service environment.
