Job Description:

TD Recruitment are working with an established metal recycling business to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to develop new industrial contracts and grow existing commercial relationships across the Midlands.

This is a genuine business development role for someone who enjoys winning new business, building relationships and getting out in front of customers.

If you already have contacts within metal recycling, manufacturing, fabrication, demolition, waste or other industrial sectors, this could be an excellent opportunity to turn those relationships into long-term commercial opportunities.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and winning new industrial and commercial contracts, while developing strong long-term relationships with existing customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and targeting new industrial and commercial customers.

• Winning new contracts and developing new business opportunities.

• Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

• Growing existing accounts and increasing contract value.

• Developing relationships with manufacturers, fabricators, demolition companies and industrial waste producers.

• Visiting customers and prospective clients across the Midlands.

• Understanding customer requirements and developing suitable recycling solutions.

• Negotiating commercial agreements and progressing opportunities through to contract.

• Managing your own sales pipeline and following up new opportunities.

• Working towards agreed business development and sales targets.

• Keeping up to date with market opportunities and competitor activity.

• Representing the company professionally at customer meetings and site visits.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced B2B salesperson or Business Development Manager who is confident winning business and developing commercial relationships.

You will ideally have:

• Proven B2B sales or business development experience.

• Experience within metal recycling, scrap, waste, manufacturing, industrial services or a related sector.

• A strong understanding of industrial and commercial customers.

• Experience winning contracts rather than simply managing inbound enquiries.

• An existing network or book of business within relevant industries would be highly advantageous.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Confidence dealing with decision-makers at all levels.

• A proactive and self-motivated approach.

• The ability to manage your own workload and sales pipeline.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Midlands.
