Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum

We are currently working with an established BMS, building automation and smart buildings specialist who are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive new business and support the continued growth of their UK operation.

This is a new business-focused position suited to someone with a strong network across the BMS / building controls market who can identify opportunities, develop client relationships and manage projects through the full sales cycle.

You will be responsible for developing new business across London and the South East, working closely with the Sales Director, estimating and operational teams to develop technically and commercially suitable solutions.

• Identify and develop new BMS and smart building project opportunities

• Generate new business across the London and South East market

• Build relationships with M&E contractors, consultants, FM providers, end users and property clients

• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential projects

• Manage opportunities from initial engagement through to proposal, tender and contract award

• Work closely with estimating and technical teams to develop project proposals

• Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients

• Promote BMS, building automation, integration, energy management and smart building solutions

• Maintain visibility of market activity, upcoming projects and potential clients

• Report directly into the Sales Director and support the wider growth strategy for the UK business

• Proven sales or business development experience within BMS / Building Automation

• Strong track record of generating and winning new business

• Good technical understanding of BMS, controls, smart buildings or associated building-services technologies

• Established network within the London / South East BMS and construction market

• Existing relationships with M&E contractors, consultants, FM providers, end users and/or property clients would be highly advantageous

• Comfortable managing the full sales process from initial prospecting through to contract award

• Experience working alongside estimating and technical teams on tenders and proposals

• Strong commercial and negotiation skills

• Confident developing relationships with senior client stakeholders

• Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely while travelling regularly to clients
