Business Development Manager | AI & Data Consultancy
London | Hybrid - 1 day per week in office
£50,000 basic + Target bonus

The business delivers bespoke AI and data solutions, working closely with clients to understand complex business challenges and develop technology-led solutions around them. They’re now looking to expand into new markets and build a stronger, more structured outbound sales function. 

This isn’t a high-volume or transactional sales role. They’re looking for someone consultative, commercially curious and confident engaging senior stakeholders, who wants to properly understand a client's challenges before discussing a solution.

The role Working closely with the Head of Commercial, marketing and technical teams, you’ll take ownership of developing qualified new business opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for:

• Building outbound pipeline across new target sectors and accounts
• Identifying and engaging senior data, technology and business decision-makers
• Running discovery and qualification conversations with prospective clients- Both virtually and in person
• Developing thoughtful, multichannel outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn and events
• Mapping buying groups and identifying the key commercial stakeholders
• Working alongside technical specialists to progress opportunities through scoping and early proposal stages
• Building relationships with prospects who may not be ready to buy immediately
• Contributing to how the wider commercial team approaches new markets and accounts

What we’re looking for:
You could already be operating as a Business Development Manager, or you may be a high-performing SDR/BDR ready to take the next step into a broader commercial position.
Ideally, you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of B2B business development or sales experience
• Experience within technology, consultancy, professional services, data/AI or another complex B2B environment
• A track record of generating pipeline through proactive outbound activity
• Confidence running discovery conversations with senior stakeholders
• Strong communication, questioning and listening skills
• A genuinely consultative approach to business development
• Commercial curiosity and an interest in AI, data and emerging technology
• A collaborative, team-first mentality
