Business Development Manager – Industrial Gases

Are you an ambitious sales professional looking for the next step in your career? This is an excellent opportunity to develop your business development skills within the industrial gases sector, with full training provided on the products, applications and technical solutions.
 
We’re recruiting for a Business Development Manager to support growth across London, Essex, Kent, East Surrey and Sussex, working with customers across a range of industrial and commercial sectors.
 
This is a field-based role focused on identifying new customers, building relationships and developing sales opportunities across packaged gases, CryoEase installations and specialist equipment and engineering solutions.
 
The Role

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the allocated territory.
• Build relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and recommending suitable solutions.
• Develop a sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals and customer engagement.
• Explore opportunities across sectors including metal fabrication, food and leisure.
• Learn about and promote packaged gases, CryoEase installations and associated equipment and services.
• Work alongside experienced colleagues and technical specialists to develop customer opportunities.
• Support customer onboarding, quotations, contracts and commercial documentation.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and work towards sales and business development targets.

 
The role is approximately 75% field-based, offering plenty of opportunity to meet customers, build commercial experience and develop your own territory.
 
About You
You don’t need to come from the industrial gases sector. We’re more interested in your sales experience, attitude and willingness to learn.
 
You’ll ideally have:

• Some previous B2B sales, sales development or business development experience.
• Confidence communicating with customers and building professional relationships.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and enthusiasm for winning new business.
• Good communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• The drive to learn new products, understand customer requirements and develop commercially.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region.

 
Experience in a technical, industrial or manufacturing environment would be beneficial, but industrial gases experience is not essential. Product knowledge and technical training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in industrial sales.
