Join Our Transport Team

RML Transport Solutions Ltd, part of a long-established and respected recycling business operating throughout the West Midlands, is looking to recruit an experienced and professional Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver to join our expanding transport team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, family-run business that prides itself on reliability, customer service and investing in both its people and fleet. You'll be driving a brand-new, modern Class 1 vehicle, working primarily Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities and long-term job security.

About the Role

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of materials throughout the West Midlands and surrounding areas. You will play a key role in representing the business, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, professionally and on time.

The role will primarily involve operating bulk tipper and curtain-side trailers within the metals and recycling industry.

Occasional nights out may be required to meet operational requirements.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV vehicle in accordance with all DVSA regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects.
• Carry out collections and deliveries safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported in accordance with legal requirements.
• Complete all delivery paperwork and driver documentation accurately.
• Comply with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and Tachograph regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
• Follow all company Health & Safety and environmental procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience
• Excellent knowledge of the West Midlands road network.
• Professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A clean driving licence is preferred.
• A minimum of three years' Class 1 driving experience is preferred.
• Desirable Experience
• Applicants with any of the following experience will be at an advantage:
• Bulk tipper trailer operation.
• Curtain-side trailer operation.
• Metals, recycling or waste management industry experience.
• Experience transporting scrap metal or recyclable materials.
