Clerk of Works 

Guernsey

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Package Negotiable

A well-established construction contractor based in Guernsey is looking to appoint an experienced Clerk of Works to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys getting into the detail of projects, taking a hands-on approach to quality control and working closely with site teams to ensure works are delivered to the highest standards. 

This role would suit someone who thrives on the technical aspects of construction, enjoys identifying and resolving issues on site, and takes pride in maintaining quality throughout the build process. Working across a range of projects, you will collaborate with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and subcontractors, becoming a key part of a close-knit team focused on delivering quality construction projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect construction works against drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Identify defects, non-conformances and areas requiring corrective action.
• Monitor workmanship, materials and installation methods.
• Produce detailed inspection reports, photographic records and site documentation.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure quality issues are resolved effectively.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Health & Safety requirements and project specifications. 

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Clerk of Works, Site Management, Site Engineering, Quality Inspection or similar construction role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to challenge issues constructively when required.
• Organised and capable of managing inspections across multiple projects.
